Marina de Spaanjerd
(Ophoven, Belgium)
Marec Marina De Spaanjerd is located in Ophoven, on the Belgium border with the Netherlands, directly on the river Meuse and very near Maaseik, Roermond, Maastricht and Maasbracht. From here you can cruise the beautiful Dutch 'Maasplassen' and various canals.
The port has excellent facilities such as a secure car park, petrol station (for the yachts), and several restaurants/brasseries to enjoy a nice meal when you don't want to cook yourself on board. Around Kinrooi there are several beautiful cycling routes that lead you past historical mills, charming village centres, beautiful nature and burgundian places. Just before you arrive at de Spaanjerd, you will find Maashotel De Spaenjerd on your right. Here, you can not only stay the night, but also have lunch and dinner or just have a cup of coffee.
Kids on board?
Do you have your (grand) children on board? Not to worry. There are many ways to entertain them. Like on the well-equipped playgrounds, beaches with lots of water activities for them.
The Limburg Maasplassen
When you sail from De Spaanjerd, you will come to one of the many Limburg Maasplassen. These are dredged lakes where it is very pleasant to be, and the water quality can be very good and clear. Many sailing schools are located on these lakes. So pay attention for the children (and adults) taking lessons. The lakes are also particularly suitable for anchoring in the evening and enjoying the total peace and quiet on board on your aft deck. The evening sun disappears behind the horizon while you enjoy a glass of wine together and your children perhaps dive into the water from the swimming platform and freshen up. It is a completely different way of enjoying life from the water.
