The magic of sailing together
- Détails
There’s something special about spending a holiday on the water. Every time, it feels as though you’re leaving the hustle and bustle behind the moment you cast off. The world becomes calmer, gentler. As if life itself were dropping anchor for a moment to enjoy the little things: a rippling wave, children giggling as they jump off the jetty, the sound of forks on a simple but delicious plate of food that you share together on board.
We know that feeling like no other. On our boat, true togetherness begins. Not because we’re far away, but because we’re together.

The freedom of the water
Boating offers a special kind of freedom. You have your home with you, you set your own pace, and the route never has to be set in stone. Sometimes we set off with a vague idea of where we want to go, but usually that plan changes as soon as we round the first bend. That’s precisely what makes it so wonderful. You spot a cosy little harbour, a quiet anchorage or a sandy beach that beckons—and suddenly you know: this is where we’ll stay tonight.
That freedom allows room for spontaneity and for savouring the moments as they arise.
With the children on board
For the children, every trip is one big adventure. Paddling behind the boat on a SUP, swimming until their hands are all wrinkled, or watching from the jetty to see if they can spot crabs moving among the rocks. Sometimes that ends in a proper ‘crab race’ or a hunt for jellyfish—proudly presented in a bucket with a colander on top.
And then there are those perfect, hilarious moments that you don’t plan but that just happen:
- flying adventures on an inflatable park,
- braiding each other’s hair on the aft deck,
- the bursts of laughter as they bob through the waves on the lake,
- or manoeuvring through narrow canals alongside a punt as if they’ve been doing it for years.
They’re those little scenes that make you think later on: this is why we go sailing.
Cosy together
In the evenings, everyone loves to snuggle up together. A BBQ on shore, a good glass of wine on the aft deck, or a simple pasta dish that tastes even better thanks to the fresh air and the view over the water.
These are the evenings when conversation flows naturally and the pace slows down of its own accord.
Sometimes we sit with a gentle breeze around us, listening to the lapping of the water against the hull. Sometimes we gaze at the lights of a town we’ve sailed right through. Sometimes we simply look at the stars. But always together.
Encounters on the water
What makes sailing so special are the encounters with other Linssen owners. Every now and then you come across the same yachts several times in one place—as if you’re following each other in a sort of waterway dance.
And through our online community, we share photos, tips and stories. It feels like a warm family of people who all share the same love for the water.
Keep dreaming and planning
Every sailing season brings new ideas. We love making plans—or rather, we mainly sketch out possibilities. Because things always change along the way. And that is precisely the charm of it. Every day, you can decide to stay a night longer, take a detour or discover a new spot.
I believe that everyone who sails recognises that feeling: that mix of freedom, connection and the simple joy of being together on the water.
I wish you many wonderful moments on board, with family, friends or simply as a couple.
And hopefully our paths will cross somewhere one day—on a river, in a harbour, or in a quiet little corner of a lake.
See you on the water,
Yvonne Linssen
