Linssen Yachts flashback on BOOT Düsseldorf 1971-2021
Düsseldorf Boat.... AHOY!
How often we sang that song, during the annual return to the Messe with all our international colleagues!
Unfortunately, for the first time, there will be no BOOT Düsseldorf this year...
But we would like to look back with you with some highlights.
The first Boot Düsseldorf, BOOT '71, was in November 1970. Linssen Yachts took part with the Limburg Kruiser 830. Linssen was not at BOOT 72, but we returned a year later with a Junior 740 and a Limburg Kruiser 880.
After a few years' absence, a mega comeback followed in January 1982 with the 35 SL and the "St. Jozef"-vlet 750 OC. We showed "Kruisers" and "Vletten" for the first time, which resulted in an international breakthrough. At this edition of BOOT, we met Jürg and Trudy Nacht of Nasta Marine and so Linssen had its first international partner at BOOT 82. Nasta Marine ordered (and sold!) the prototype of the 35 SL in Düsseldorf.
We presented many models at BOOT over the years.
In 1987, for example, the presentation of the revolutionary 115 SX was on the programme. We also got to know Rollo Gebhard, which gave us great name recognition but, above all, a wonderful family friendship. Rollo started at Linssen with a Classic Sturdy 360 and had many wonderful adventures with his boat and his later ones, which the whole water sports world was able to read about in his books. In 1991, we showed the complete SE/SX line side by side. A 35, 37, 40 and 44 footer, a beautiful sight.
Over the years, we moved from hall 9, via hall 15 to hall 17. And from 2020 in the new Hall 1.
Just travelling to the fair was a joy. First in Ratingen in a cosy family hotel, then all together in the bus and in recent years with a few cars. More and more international dealers who showed you our models at the show, and more and more visitors. A growing Linssen family, with an annual reunion at "our BOOT Düsseldorf". Always bringing a couple of Limburg pies to the Messeleitung, as Wendy & Yvonne took over this good custom from Peter.
In 2005, the international presentation of the Grand Sturdy 29.9 AC and Sedan, in 2007 a high-ranking visit from the Belgian King and in 2009 we were in the tourism hall (no. 13) for the very first time with a fully-fledged Linssen Boating Holidays® stand, a new milestone!
In recent years, our stand has become bigger and bigger and so have the scoops. From the Grand Sturdy 590, via the new Grand Sturdy 500 AC Variotop® to the new SL Series in 2020, with the 30 SL Sedan as a worlds first.
We have a lot in store for you in 2021... but you can come and see for yourself in Maasbracht as soon as it is permitted.
AHOY! See you in Maasbracht, but certainly at BOOT '22!
