Ouddorp/Maasbracht. From 18 July to 9 August 2025, Jonkers Yachts and Linssen Yachts are once again organising a special Linssen tour (the 20th time this year). This edition will take fourteen proud owners with their Linssen motor yacht across the English Channel to the fascinating south-east coast of England. It will be a voyage of discovery along rivers, historic port towns and impressive natural areas.

From Zeeland to Suffolk, Essex and Kent

The tour begins with a joint departure via Roompotsluis in Zeeland. On Saturday 19 July, the participants - if weather conditions are favourable - will make the crossing of about 100 nautical miles to Woolverstone Marina on the River Orwell, near Ipswich. Then, in the following days and weeks, they will sail via England's rivers and coastline to destinations such as Aldeburgh, Woodbridge, Walton Backwaters, Brightlingsea, Tollesbury, Burnham-on-Crouch and Ramsgate.

Rest days ensure there is time to explore the area, do some shopping and enjoy English village and coastal life.

Nautical preparation and assistance

Crossing the busy English Channel and sailing in tidal waters requires thorough preparation. Participants receive a comprehensive route book in advance, with sailing instructions, tide tables, coordinates and safety guidelines. Along the way, the fleet is in contact with each other via VHF and AIS, and there are fixed coordination moments. The National Digital Infrastructure Inspectorate has even issued a group MMSI number to Jonkers Yachts for this trip.

The organisation will provide support where needed. A weather and navigation team will be put together in which all skippers automatically participate. Safety and good seamanship are key. Participants take care of their own boat equipment, including life-saving equipment, up-to-date sea charts and a recently inspected life raft.

More than a cruising trip - an experience to remember

The Jonkers/Linssen tour has become a highlight among Linssen owners. The combination of adventure, camaraderie and discovery creates special memories and lasting friendships. Crossing the English Channel, traversing shipping lanes several times, dealing with wind farms, sailing in convoy, sharing experiences at port drinks and discovering new sailing areas under guidance makes this trip unique.

This edition, with its focus on the classic English waterways and the alternation between river, sea and coast, underlines Linssen Yachts' broad cruising range: comfortable and reliable sailing throughout Europe - from inland waterways to coastal seas.
