Linssen Yachts history; Since 1949

Linssen Yachts BV is a family business with a rich tradition. On 1 April 1949, Jac. Linssen founded the company, which began as a modest carpentry and ship repair company. Over the years, the company developed steadily and became an important player in Dutch steel yacht building.

Walk with us through time...

Linssen Yachts is known for its trendsetting developments. In just two years time, a complete new yacht series is introduced: the DOT Zero series. At this moment this series is very complete with yachts in 30.0, 35.0, 40.0 and 50.0 ft. in both AC (with Aft Cabin) and Sedan (with Open Cockpit) versions.

The flagship of Linssen: the Grand Sturdy 500 AC Variotop® is launched in a completely redesigned engine room and interior. With the latest technology on board, and the Linssen ICCESS and LIPPCON systems.

In 2018 and 2019 a ‘smaller’ sister is introduced: the Grand Sturdy 450 AC Variotop® and the 480 AC Variotop®

2020 marks the new Linssen SL series. At BOOT Düsseldorf in January the first is introduced: the Linssen 30 SL Sedan. Then in May 2020 the Linssen 35 SL AC.

In September the new Linssen Grand Sturdy 40.0 AC INTERO and Sedan INTERO will be presented at the pre launch.

These years again contain many new developments. The New Classic Sturdy series with the ‘cute’ small Classic Sturdy 28 Sedac, but also the robust Classic Sturdy 410 Sedan Deckbridge.

In 2011 the third generation of the Linssen family continue the family tradition and take their places in the management of the company.

The Linssen Boating Holidays network is growing. In 2013 it has over 70 yachts in 7 countries and 17 charter bases.

The complete furniture factory is moved to Echt; a location 5 km from Maasbracht. Here we have the space to build an efficient workflow for the complete interior and other (teak) wood parts.

The years from 2001-2010 mark the introduction of the very successful “9”-series. Starting with the 29.9 at the 2004 Linssen Yachts Boat Show, this series grew in this decade to a very complete series from 29-45 ft.

The Mark II-series was presented in 2005 with the Grand Sturdy 410, 430 and 470 AC Mark II.

Linssen Yachts viewed developments in the yacht-building market from a totally different angle. Serial construction, process technology, scale advantage, logistics and technology were aspects that were – and still are – important to the Maasbracht yacht builder.

Development of the three Logicam production lines for yachts from 30-35 ft, 40-45 ft and 45-50 ft, new shot blasting and spraying cabins, new CNC wood milling machines and expansion of the steel hull construction are just some of the many enhancements of the Linssen shipyard.

Finally the shipyard celebrated it’s 60th anniversary in 2009 with the Grand Sturdy 500 AC Variotop – Diamond Edition and the Grand Sturdy 60.33 and 60.43.

1999 marks the 50th anniversary of Linssen Yachts. A great party and the beginning of the annual Linssen Yachts Boat Show.
Prins Willem Alexander visits the shipyard.

The grp Linssen DS 45 is presented in Switzerland and receives very high points from the international press.
